It is also perfect for covering entire bodies, including caddis larvae and pupae, stoneflies, leeches, and many other aquatic organisms. When wrapped properly, it creates a realistic, semi-transparent segmented effect that closely imitates natural insects.

The wide color range of Natural Scud Back allows you to replicate virtually all nymphs found in our waters, especially when combined with carefully selected dubbings. One package is enough to tie dozens of shellbacks, making it a highly efficient and economical material.

When cut into thin strips and wrapped over different colored underbodies, it enables you to imitate most natural shades of insect bodies. The material can also be colored with Pantone or permanent markers, allowing you to subtly blend the dubbing color beneath the Scud Back layer and achieve an interesting, varied texture.
