When light reflects
off a shiny surface such as sand, water, snow orroads, it becomes
concentrated horizontally and causes glare. Glare reduces visibility and
makes it uncomfortable, painful and dangerous to carry on driving,
cycling, skiing or even just sunbathing. While non-polarized lenses just
make things look darker, Polaroid polarized sunglasses block virtually

Thermofusion™
Thermofusion™
is the innovative production process developed specifically for our
UltraSight™ allows us to form lenses in a way that fully protects the
polarizer that is at the core of the lens. With other techniques, the
polarizing film for the lens comes into direct contact with hot plastic -
compromising its efficiency or forming the lens in a way that results
in poor optics. Thermofusion™ Technology overcomes both these issues by
raSight™ lens, a breakthrough in quality and technology, delivering
great polarizing efficiency and perfect optics. By investing into this
unique process, we are able to create lenses that are thicker in the
middle and pared toward the edges. These preserve visual acuity so
wearers can accurately see sizes, shapes and distances perfectly clearly
without any eye stress or headache.
Polaroid Ultrasight™ Lenses. All benefits at a glance
UltraSight™
lenses, exclusively developed for Polaroid polarized sunglasses, are
made of nine functional elements. The core element is the polarizing
light filter. UV light absorbers are bonded to both sides of it. These
block all harmful UVA, UVB, and UVC light rays. Shock-absorbing layers
are then fused to both sides of the UV absorbers, making the lens light,
flexible and impact resistant. A scratch-resistant layer on both the
outer surfaces completes the lens structure.
